The common horse chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum) is a species of the genus horse chestnut (Aesculus) native to the Balkans and widely planted in Central Europe. The horse chestnut has anti-inflammatory, astringent, antibacterial, blood purifying, haemostatic, diuretic, antispasmodic, expectorant and analgesic properties.

The blue-green juniper berries, cones of the juniper, grow on evergreen shrubs or small trees up to 12m high. The slightly yellowish oil obtained from steam distillation of the dried berries is said to have not only numerous physical but also psychological effects. Juniper oil can be used both internally (not at emmi-bioMYO) and externally.

Juniper oil helps with the following physical complaints: Joint pain, muscle pain, back pain, rheumatism, arthritis and tension in the neck and shoulder area, even sprains and strains juniper oil can work wonders. The hellebore (Helleborus) originally comes from Transylvania and Galicia. The perennial plant flowers between January and March and stands out beautifully against the white snow with its dark, purple flowers. The plant is often also called Christmas rose.

The hellebore is a rediscovered ancient medicinal plant. Due to its anti-inflammatory properties, hellebore can also be used for rheumatological diseases (rheumatoid arthritis, activated arthrosis, collagenosis).

The effects of ultrasound are:

Increased blood circulation, improved cell metabolism as well as an increase in the pain threshold. The main mechanism of action is assumed to be that the sound waves cause a kind of deep massage by triggering the individual cells and thus setting them in motion. Ultrasound can prove its strengths especially in the case of injuries in muscle or tendon tissue. Since the heat that is often felt during application has no inflammation-increasing effect, it can also be used in acute conditions. Injured muscle or tendon fibres quickly develop a diffuse, chaotic structuring, which reduces the tensile strength of the otherwise parallel fibres. The sound waves lead to a kind of massage effect that causes a realignment of the tendon and muscle structures. This significantly increases the resilience of the tissue again.
